 		 Located 8 miles east of the town of Ten sleep
on Highway 16.

   The Ten Sleep Fish Hatchery was built in 1939 in scenic Ten Sleep Canyon. The location is beautiful and impressive, but the steep canyon walls prevent the sun from reaching the canyon floor much of the winter.
     The hatchery receives its water from three natural springs, which produce over a million gallons of water each day. The combined springs have a temperature of 54 degrees, which is the optimal temperature for raising trout.
  The Ten Sleep Hatchery is one of the smallest facilities in the state, but produces over two million fish each year. The hatchery also incubates 6 million eggs from several different brood sources around the state. The hatchery raises Rainbow trout, Cutthroat trout, Brook trout and Splake.
