The Grayrocks Reservoir PAA is located seven miles south of Guernsey and nine miles northeast of Wheatland along the Laramie River. The Missouri Basin Power Project provides public access to Grayrocks Reservoir through a cooperative agreement with the Wyoming Game and Fish department. Grayrocks reservoir is a private reservoir built to provide water to operate the Laramie River station. The Wyoming Game and Fish Department manages the Public Access Area and fishery in cooperation with Missouri Basin Power. The 3,500 acre reservoir and surrounding lands are managed for optimum public recreational activities and to maintain or improve present wildlife habitat.

Outdoor enthusiasts should note that all off-road vehicle (ORV’s) use is banned on the entire Grayrocks PAA. The camping limit at Grayrocks PAA is 7 days to allow everyone a chance to camp in the prime spots. There are twelve parking areas which provide access for fishing to the 3,500 acre reservoir as well as boating opportunities. The parking areas are developed with comfort stations, boat ramps, boat docks and are all handicaps accessible. This reservoir provides quality fishing year round for Bass, Crappie, Channel Catfish, Freshwater Drum, Perch, Walleye, Tiger Muskie, Trout, and waterfowl hunting.
