The largemouth bass was introduced to Wyoming into a number of lakes in the eastern counties, the Bighorn Basin and the Lander area. Largemouth prefer large lakes and reservoirs with an abundance of aquatic vegetation and summer temperatures exceeding seventy-five degrees Fahrenheit.

Spawning is generally the same as a smallmouth, but with a stronger tendency toward lake spawning.

Fish are the main diet item of adult largemouth. Stunted populations of largemouth often result when forage fish are not abundant. |
